What powder for 223 rem

What length barrel are you using?

I am using 24.7gr 53gr v-max and get 3300fps from a 20” barrel.
Interesting info!

I have a 23" barrel, 1:8 twist, and almost a whole grain less of powder, once I step up to 24gr and over I begin to get light pressure signs. Lapua brass, CCI BR4 primers

I'm using a tikka t3x with a 1-12 twist 20" barrel, used once Hornady brass (53gr superformance varmint) yes there a pain with the crimped in primmer
but with a bit of careful work there ok, as for total round length i copied the factory round again I took the mean from a box of 20 rounds and it seems to work
primmer wise I'm using fiocchi small rifle primmer
I'm not looking for long shots I think most of my foxes are shot at about 100yds but have killed a few out to about 230yds
if I can call them in closer then all well and good 🦊

I’ve got exactly same gun and use 53gr vmax federal brass and yes crimp is a pain but once reamed it’s fine . I load with rs40 at 24.6 gr and on my fourth load without any problems yet.

N133 or cfe223. Cfe223 will work far better/easier if you're using a manual thrower but it's horses for courses. Both work well. The only negative on the cfe is if you're loading hot, it doesn't take much to send it over in terms of ambient heat

I was trying to find a replacement for R15 and one of the contenders is RamShot TAC, and it's readily available.
I made some loads up and got the Proof House at B'Ham to test them to match the R15 loads I have left over. So far initial testing seems to show the come-ups are virtually the same as the previous loading but with slightly less charge.
