What's hanging in your study?

My first red stag taken in Sutherland under guidance of Sikamalc of this parish. A web page grab of Maarten Platje's "Sir Lancelot rounding Foreland Light" Maarten is a contemporary dutch painter specialising in maritime subjects. His rendering of sea and sky is second to none, amazing work. The Cities Aviation Products poster reproduction was bought in a cafe in a small US airport on the day I passed my US FAA A and P Airplane Mechanic exams, thus making me a "Genuine US Government Licensed Airplane Mechanic.

My photo of Buchan Ness lighthouse, Peterhead with a bit of a sea running. My first UK Association of Rimfire Benchrest shooting 250 ex 250 target. I have only done one more. The last PP1 target I shot with my much modified Smith & Wesson Model 10 before taking it to Peterhead Police station to be destroyed. A Figure 12/59 shot with my No 4 at 200 yards on Black Dog Range, Aberdeen. Red stag from Glen Clova, Angus.

Another Glen Clova stag, a couple of my Labradors, my niece with her Rottweilers and a few local roe heads.

The national insignia from a Sultan of Oman's Air Force (SOAF) Augusta-Bell 204 that was damaged by a surface to air missile during the Dhofar insurrection in 1975. The helicopter made it back to base at Salalah where a replacement tail boom and other repairs were made. The damaged tail boom was left in the scrap yard, I cut this out in 1976.

That’s Glen Affric Tom. The white cottage was Duncan the stalkers house when I was there. Just to the right through the trees you can make out a wee red bothy where I stayed. Happy memories. RIP Duncan, a good man.

Thanks mate. You'd have thought I'd have known it given I've been there! Belting picture.

Not got a study but in the conservatory. My two best borders Muffin and Tweed painted by wife number two. Out on the hill watching an occupied den waiting for the vixen to come in. Both accomplished above and below ground. Sadly both long gone. Group of memories from a former life.

More workshop artwork, well it is again now anyway.

Having a good old clear out in the workshop and stumbled across this today, in a fair old state so I will see about getting it restored and then potentially preserved in some way?!

Taken around '92/93 would be a very educated guess, taken by a local fella and still a great friend today, Peter Machan, a historian who specialises in the Sheffield trades and surrounding areas that housed them.

The giant of a gentleman you see working away on the left is my dad, me tucked away working on a little powered press that we had at that time over on the right.

In the corner you can see THUNDERBIRD VII as I named it, am old 'Double Header' blade glazing and polishing machine, I still have and cherish it, I never use it, I just know that I will never, ever, get another one.

From a different angle but the same corner much more recently, I have moved machines around, new lights and now glass where the plywood filled frames it should have been in were 😂

Oh yeah. How have you got on with the guitar since you took it up?

Im currently painting my sparerrom to turn it into my office. The guitar is going on the wall and I'm nicking my brother's Marshal valve amp.

Good. They have been in storage for a while while I moved house but lessons will be kicking off again soon. Feel a bit like I’m starting again but I’m not really. Picked it up yesterday and the shapes are still there.
Bought a Fender deluxe reverb to encourage me 😂

The muscle memory soon kicks in.

I think my brothers is a vintage 2x12 thing, not sure on the model.
