What's your favourite ' to come home to ' meal

Well I'm off out stalking now. Going to bivvy in the field and do dusk & dawn. With a bit of luck I'll be coming home to a hunter's breakfast!

Good luck mate nowt better than fresh deer liver for brekky, I don't like liver as a general rule , but fresh on the fire is a different pallet experience altogether, it tastes damn good and clean/ fresh

I'm doing the same this weekend in the borders, a tarp n fire to hopefully cook a Sika liver on( I know where they are now on my new bit of ground)

Fingers crossed

VSS is the fine young lady joining you ?

Venison pie, got to be red deer and it has to have a lot of meat in it. Cook the venison with veg, red wine, salt and pepper with a little bit of Worcester sauce. Getting hungry thinking about it!

Your like r Mack you are, you'd eat your own bleddy head if you could, your hungry all the time

I'm sure you've tried to take a bite out of me when we're out, but blamed it on the midges lol lol

Partial to a home made roe deer lasagne; or the neck cut into oxtail-like pieces and slow-cooked with the usual suspects is also pretty hard to beat!

Pan fried muntjac backstrap - preferably with really good chip shop chips (to mop up the juices) and possibly a cheeky fried egg.

Some of Tim,s <VSS> Mutton ,slow cooked in parsnips, carrotts ,red onions and its own juice gravy ,mash tatties ,peas ,more carrotts and broad beans so good it was Sunday dinner and Monday tea after work .Good luck Tim , freshest of fresh breakfast fingers crossed

Mine has to be liver and bacon with mash and cabbage.
With a generous portion of kidney and a good quality pork sausage for good measure. All covered in onion gravy

Steamed suet puddings with venison or beef shin and kidney, aka babys heads. Up there with the best.

A rolled loin of pork that has been unrolled and garlicked and rosemary-ed the re rolled to marinate for a week then cooked in my pizza oven outside, or on the spit.
Here`s one under way on the little spit.
When finished and all bubbly crackled its a rippn` feed plus the trimmings too.
I swear the foxes sit on the hill and drool!
Finished off with a Jam Roley Poley pudding mitt clotted Jersey cream.

Fork food, truth be told! That may be shepherd's pie, cottage pie, steak tartare, or fish and chips bought from the chippie but essentially something that can be eaten with one hand or one hand holding a fork.
