Recoil energy table from the venerable Chuck Hawks - I have both .308 and 6.5x55 SE and they are great to shoot though there is a significant difference in felt recoil but neither are unpleasant to shoot especially in the field (about 12 probably the old military rifle against 18 per CH) though I didn’t think it that big. The obvious difference is you can see the bullet strike with the 6.5.
