Which caller for foxing guys?

Hi guys looking at purchasing an electronic caller to draw the foxes in on my permissions. What would you guys go for a foxpro or icotec? Been looking at a foxpro wildfire 2 or a icotec gc500 but not sure which to go for. What's your opinions guys. Want to spend no more than £150 if possible.

Ico tec is perfect for what I need. They have slightly more range on the remote than the fox pros

I've got a foxpro and it's very good but I'm buggered if I can work out how to download more calls for it even had the kids try to no avail

Icotec does me ,but the last one was brought in with the 10 quid mouse squeeker and Malc on here just called 1 from about 300 yds down to 60 so even i couldnt miss at that range. atb

Best fox call I’ve ever tried is the little tiny clear plastic squeakers from dogs squeaky stuffy toys after they eventually rip them apart. Will call a fix in from a bloody mile away!

None of them work if you don’t try them and all of them have their day.
Often without rhyme or reason!

I’m a sucker for subliminal marketing so after watching this pair of vids:

Tried a T2. Worked well a couple of times now but mainly with the tenterfield end and it’s handy to have around your neck.

I have a FoxPro and use it at times to great success. It helps because it keeps their eyes off of you. However, it’s also a big lump of your scent which sometimes tips things back to the foxes favour.

Properly exhilarating when they work mind you. There’s no finer sight than a fox biting your speaker!!

I’ve reverted back to hand calling, must have 6 or 7 calls on a lanyard

Having had over the years the fox pro and the icotech both are good, but they can be over used and not a be all and end all calling system

I normally either stalk in or find a layover spot, sit and wait with the thermal and stop the fox with a squeak or two

They come in one way or another, I do use the icotec waggler on moonlit nights to spark up in interest, I’ve found that during the lighter nights the waggler will pull them in for a shot whereas they would stay in the shadows

Recently bought the cheaper icotec 101XT, cost about £55. Been out a couple of times, I don’t have many foxes on my permission so it’s yet to be christened, but it seems loud enough and has a few calls that sound like they should work. Hopefully come spring i’ll have more joy.

I use a MINI MAG caller from MM SPORTING LTD. The rabbit squealer is brilliant, and the whole unit fits in a pocket, it is not remote controlled though.

I use one of these ... ICOtec GC101XL Fox Caller from Best Fox Call – Best Fox Call and I love the thing. Fits in my coat pocket for travelling and has remote control. Have had foxes run hard at it and one actually tried to get it off the fence post I'd put it on top of. The 100yd range of the remote is a bit questionable, but at 80 yds or so it's fine and means I can get Charlie looking at somwhere where I'm not. For a whole £55 it's a no brainer as far as I can see :)

O41"Vixen domination call" and also the "045 haunting call" has been useful lately, but the really high winds here in east Norfolk for the last few weeks have been challenging, to say the least, the weather forecast says it about to change for the better. The best call is the one that no one else local is using. deerwarden

Another for the western rivers, keep thinking about upgrading to the new FoxPro shockwave but I dont think I would gain anything.

Which calls are working for you please? So far I have had no joy with mine.

Sat at work I can't think of what they're called, but the most effective so far have been ..
1) Side button back and bottom right call button .. sounds like a puppy with it's nuts shut in a door.
2) Side button forward, call button top left. Mousey sort of squeaking like someone silently running with a typical builders wheelbarrow.
3) Side button forward, call button second down on the right. Sounds like the biggest bunny in the world being killed slowly by a stoat, again, and again, and again.

#2 was the one that made a fox try to eat the call from the top of a fence post after I changed to that once I saw the fox at about 400yds having been using #3 previously.

I think the key is not to just switch the thing on, turn up the volume and sit back in expectation. Volume needs to drop as Charlie approaches, and changing calls will often tempt in those that may have heard, but didn't like, the previous call.
Put simply 'Keep playing around with the thing. Foxes are nosey as well as hungry so you'll tempt them in sooner or later.'

Great, thank you!

We must be doing something right and might just not have foxes near by, an owl continually came to the caller tonight as soon as it was turned on!
