Which IR torch for the Alpex 4k?

Have a look at IR light builds, on Facebook. Lots of footage with the Alpex. Ian is a gent to deal with.

Lost count of how many foxes I've taken using it 👌🏽

I've found the 'Night Star' from Blackwood Outdoors is very good with the Alpex 4K (and with the Pard DS35-70 too).

I use the dark engine, very light . small and good, but mines seems to go dull and bright at times .. one my mates says I should get the DFK I.r .. as he swares by it.. but I don't know if anyone has compared them with the alpex lrf

If it's not an issue with the NV device, let me know and we can send you another tail switch to try as that could be the only cause of power fluctuation. Also worth making sure the tail switch threads are clean.

I bought this comes with nice adjustable mounts and all you need to set up seems to work grand

Hikmicro IR torches are the lightest .150 grams.
This is exactly what I am thinking.

With sensitivity of Alpex 4K, there is really no need for anything stronger than HIKMICRO LED Hikmicro Alpex 850 IR Torch.
It will fill the whole Alpex 4K field of view when on flood. Whit Alpex at 7x and illumination focused to fill the screen, I was able to spot and ID fox at 200m without any problems.
To be honest, I have never shot a fox at night at longer than 170m.

Cheers

Hi Dari,

The benefit of something with a bit more go is that, for the BLADE at least, you can set it to fill the field of view on base mag and it won't need focussing to a tighter beam unless you are getting well out on distance.

It also won't need messing about with the power adjuster to prevent white out as the beam is completely even , without any dark or hot centre to the beam that other high power illuminators suffer from.

Cheers
