It does, and they were awesome triggers!!! Had one, should never have sold it

Install of rings is not for the faint of heart but can be made less stressful by first wrapping electricians tape around the tube to avoid marking it when stretching/opening up the rings.

Indeed, but like EAW rings and similar, I always put a piece of printer paper on the scope, slide them over, then pull the paper out

8x57 is fine and a great round if kept under 150yds or so. Hugely underrated IMHO

It would have been unpleasant because of the rifles stock design most likely, esp. if it was the original k98 stock Sporterised and original steel buttplate. There’s nothing in it recoil wise between the 8mm Mauser and your beloved 7x57 really.

Could also be it was a heavy pill, thy can handle up to around 200g, which gives a fair amount of recoil

It’s a little subjective, I find the 8x57 to recoil significantly more than the 7x57 and it’s closer to the 30-06 although a little harder hitting. There’s no reason to limit range more than any other calibre.
