Which moderator?

I am looking for a moderator for my Sauer 202 30-06. Would appreciate advice on what to buy? I will be using it for stalking.

Personally I wouldn't bother at all but if you really felt you needed one then a good choice would be an ASE Jet Z.

Ase Utra (not Ultra !) I used one for ages on a 243 and the sound reduction was superb.
I now use a Wildcat P8 and prefer the overall balance. Not sure it`s as quiet as the Utra though

I use Ase Utra Jet Z Compact on my .300wsm and my .25-06, brilliant. Expensive but worth it.

I recommend AU-SL5 in .30 cal and have due to changing rifles have one sat at my RFD for sale. Regards JCS

I have an A-Tec Maxim on my 30-06 and i'm really happy with it, easy to stip down to clean and nice and light.

I've tried a few and feel the northstar is built to a high standard.
it sleeves over the barrel and is made of stainless steel.
you don't need a back bush with them.

I also like the Northstar. Adds only four inches, and isn't strippable. All good!

Taking delivery of a Hardy Gen III from Riflecraft at the end of the week. Meant to be the lightest and quitest ? also has an integrated muzzle break.

It is light, but certainly not the quietest by a long shot.

Have a look at the Roedale. I have the light weight one on my 30.06 and find it very good. It is strippable for cleaning and you can reduce the number of baffles if desired.

Cheapest mod in construction is the T8... but its still the quietest by far!!

Thats what i would opt for on sound reduction alone.
