Which stock do I have here?

The stock on my 700 222 is quite heavy. What is it? It's a laminated semi target stock. Wide forend. Can I fit a short action bdl stock or lighter synthetic even?

It’s a Remington short action so any rem 700 s/a stock will fit iirc it’s 6.5’’ between bolts ?

Just the floor plate to consider ie if you want a blind or removable mag system

As its a SA Rem 700 with NV, can I recommend a Magpul hunter stock, I have one fitted on my .17rem 700, lightweight, very comfy, rigid and also very adjustable for correct eye position when an NV scope is fitted

I'm more a traditional type.
I'll ask my local shop if they have something lying around, fingers crossed 🤞...

A piece of bdl timber is fitted. Just got to check zero.
It's err, not much lighter 🤦.
I'll see how it goes.

Whilst there I serviced the trigger. It's developed a little creep.
Anyway that's all adjusted.
Some asked months ago for pictures of the unit. Hopefully someone will tell me which trigger unit I have??

hello mate, it's a rem too, i think, i believe i've seen it on very late models (78-80) remington 600 mohawks. a walker trigger perhaps?

Brilliant, thank you.
It looks like I have a Walker with two-way safety.

Last night was the first long walk with the bdl stock and yes it is noticeably lighter but not by much. I noticed also that for my small hands it feels easier to handle also.
