Looking to source a reflex type moderator, threaded Metric 18/1, calibre .223 Rem, also same in .17, to suit Fireball cartridge, both rifles heavy barreled, Any recommendations?, either from people on here building them , or shop bought.:thumb:

I would forget the titanium mumbo jumbo if i were you, there are plenty of moderators which work better and are far cheaper than LP moderators.

Finnbear if i were you i would look at an Atec Maxim or an Ase Utra Jet-Z CQBS, not reflex, but sticks out the same amount, both are available in 18x1

http://www.tld.uk.net/ this might interest you. i don't know anyone with one, or anyone

who has tried them yet. they have just come on the market so not much info on the net sorry.

The TLD Mods have been developed by a team based close to where I live. I have seen several early versions and pre-production models. One of their USP's is the outer casing is made from carbon fibre. Some airgun mods use these already, but as far as I know TLD's will be the first fullbore mods to use CF.

The ones I've seen certainly look the part. I have no connection with the company and I can't comment on the performance as I've not used one yet. However, I will be getting one when they're available as they've been developed in my local area and all the parts are made in the UK.

I will try and do a review when I get mine. The rifle I want to use one on is a 7mm RM, so hopefully a good test for any mod.

Cheers,

Bob

The cqb is superb up to 6mm!!

I would be going for a CMM4, cracking on my 22-250 and that's a very loud cartridge, not reflex, but at 240(?)gramms, it does not throw the balance.
