Like a mushroom in the dark I know sfa about this (and soccer) but can someone explain why the Spurs turfed him.
Why was he sacked? Ange Postecoglou's sacking

whatever it is I have nfi but didnt he take them to the top of the tree and win a cup?
I had another search but still dont know why. Was he caught doing something with the owners wife...wtf?
On BBC Radio, Spurs fan Jack Teasdale from Macclesfield, said: "It just doesn't make sense to me. We wait 17 years for a trophy, we finally win a trophy in Bilbao and then we sack him and we're back to square one again. It's a shambles to be honest."

Christ John he only had to beat Manchester United to win the trophy. There's only five teams finished worse in this season's Premier League final rankings and Tottenham one of them. They, Tottenham, pretty much only stayed up because my home team, Leicester, were utter and total sh1te.

but he won the trophy Richard,champion means champion no matter whom you beat.I`m willing to bet that his replacement wont repeat it. So why was he sacked?
Mostly, football managers/coaches get sacked because club owners/boards always have inflated ideas of their club's place in the world. Historically the managers that have done consistently well are those who have been at the club long term. But unfortunately for many, the only thing that counts is immediate results. This was the second season for Ange Postecoglou and (one cup apart) they were rubbish. However, to build a good team, again, time is needed. And altogether that's in short supply. Now they'll have to start from scratch. Again.
Hark back to Fergie and Man Utd. He wasn't an overnight success, but look at the successes he had over a long time. And there's others.

I`m assuming that from now the Spurs will simply go backwards. Successful coaches breed success one thinks.
Spurs, speaking generally and long term are a good club and should be in the Premiership. But actually being able to win stuff is a different matter. They are a mid table team really. So winning competitions is something they aspire to and very occasionally might achieve very occasionally. To boost them into the top 4 or 5 clubs in the land would take real effort, skill and money. Chopping and changing managers really isn't going to help.

Put it this way John. The Liverpool team were due to play the Spurs but on the way to London their coach broke down. Fortunately a car full of four "reds" supporters was just passing and said they'd just got room to squeeze one of the Liverpool players in on the back seat and would be able to get him there in time for the start of the game. Arne Slot agreed so they sent Mo Salah down on his own.
Later that evening after the match Slot 'phones Mo Salah up to be told even though he was playing on his own, as the rest of the team never managed to arrive, that he beat Postecoglou's men 2-0. Arne Slot is disappointed and asks who only two to nil. Salah apologies and say "I'm sorry boss, don't be too upset but I got sent off twenty minutes before half time just after scoring that second goal."

Simply put, because Daniel Levy is an utter cnut and Enic who own the club prioritise profit over success. Levy could see that Ange was building too much support from players past and present and the majority of the fan base, such that further success against all odds in a third season and sacking him would then become nigh on impossible.
Ange won Spurs first trophy in 17-years and first European trophy in 41-years, despite not being given what he needed and when other serial winner and even bigger names failed. Now with such success under his belt and calling for proper experienced strengthening of the squad to kick on next season, that just won't do for Levy and Enic because that means spending funds they simply don't want to spend. So, fire under the excuse of poor league performance, bring in another manager who also won't be backed and it's rinse and repeat in the same way it has been the entire 22-years of Enic's tenure.

In simple terms the Premier league position is the “ Coffee “ in your club’s performance, any “ Cups” are the froth on top. For spurs the coffee measure was finishing one place above the relegation positions ( 4th from Bottom) the froth was winning the second tier European cup, not enough by some margin to save his job

Think Spuds have the 4th biggest budget so where they finished in the league should be a sacking offence alone really.
The EL is a decent gig but with the removal of the drop down of teams from the CL it’s a far easier comp to win now.
His refusal to have a plan B in the premier was always going to be his undoing.
Saying that,Levy is a huge reason for the shite show that Spuds are and their fans know it.
