I think that "back in the day," Winchester cases were always the better-quality "tapered cases"; the parallel-tubed jobbies were the cheaper, less desirable cases for the discerning homeloader. Of course, it was some time ago that I reloaded shotshell cartridges.

I have a shooting "buddy" that I shoot a round of clay with each Tuesday who used to reload Winchester AA on his Posness Warren press. The Americans call Cheddite cases and the like with their brass washes steel heads "Euro trash" apparently. I don't know if today's Winchester AA are, as they were then, true brass heads or if they too are now steel?
