Winter Gloves

Not leather as requested and probably the worst winter gloves ever made. The trigger finger has zero insulation leaving you with no feeling in the one finger that you want the most feeling in. Are you trying to see the OP off or something Gd?

To be fair they have leather palms. I use Sealskinz gloves through the winter, plenty warm enough for me, but then I'm not a poof.

Have to agree with that. I was out last night on the rats, temperature dropped to -4 and it was f*****g freezing, numb fingers, fumbling trying to load 22's into magazines.
Now where did I put my neoprene gloves? they are slightly better.
May be the OP should have a look at 5etta Hunting Line gloves.....I think I should as well !!!

I have tried all sorts over the years. I have never found any so called waterproof gloves that really are. These days I use a pair of thin leather gloves and when it's really cold I wear a pair of thin Merino liners underneath them. They do as good a job as anything else when wet and remain warm, especially if you treat the leather well. No trigger finger but plenty sensitive enough to use the trigger whilst wearing them.

Love it. To be fair, I have turned into a bit of a girl's blouse since living down South. However, it would appear that I'm not alone in my opinion of the shooting version of the Sealskinz. The Hunter ones are a much better choice.

Loads of great advice guys, thank you. Thinking about it, I suppose another option would be just some wool gloves, trigger finger removed (or fingerless) over the top of my current MacWets. Purely for the warmth when required.

Glad you took that in the spirit it was intended, I nearly took the bit off the end but it made me chuckle too much.

You can wear glove liners underneath when it's really cold.

I can’t complain with the pair I got

You could just immerse your hands in water and let them dry off in the wind, like puntgunners did for generations.

Laksen Moscow gloves might be a compromise worth looking at.

+1 Had a set for over two games seasons and still going strong.

Must admit though my fingertips were numb yesterday standing in ambush in -2 for over an hour. Going to look at the silk liners.

If anyone is looking for some real good gloves at little cost have a look at the Wulfsport neoprene gloves and from Dennis Winter site( no connection just like a bargain) they are only £14.89 delivered. Nice thin neoprene with a suede palm. No need to remove finger to squeeze the trigger😉

Interesting seeing all the opinions, especially about Seal Skinz. I own a pair but use them in the autumn as I don't find them particularly warm or waterproof. The new magnetic catch for holding back the finger is hopeless.
In true winter conditions I use a pair of German army winter gloves in flecktarn. Very hard to find but I've found them to be the best for keeping my hands warm.
