I hate job advert that claim the salary is competitive, yet aren’t willing to disclose what it is.

I’d probably consider reviewing your personal hygiene Malc.

The current Assistant who is leaving has been offered a Head Keeper role at another deer park, the three previous assistants have all gone on to become Head Keeper at Woburn and the current Seasonal Assistant has been there for four years. So it’s fair to say the staff turn over rate is probably to do with individuals progression within the industry.

As for “competitive salary” how does that translate to minimum wage? If this is a candidates first concern then working with deer is probably not for you.

I note that a house and vehicle come with the job. That's not to be sniffed at! Looks like a really good opportunity to me.

Probably a job for life and very steady working in a pleasant environment just best go with da flow and before you know it it’s time to retire.

In the last 15 years I would guess prior to Dan who started up a deer park in East Sussex. ( my assistant went to work with Dan, as he got a house with the job. Dans assistant took over, then he became head keeper, he's left and his assistant took over. There has been a number of changes in a fairly short time.
Not that I am knocking any if it, although it may seem so.
Most of the Asst keepers stay a short few years because the job was mixed with estate property maintenance in the summer months.
Anyway it's a foot into the stalking world and those are few and far between. And it looks good on a CV working for the estate.
