Of course it doesn’t matter. But that’s the whole point of all these letters isn’t it!It should not matter - and that is the point.
It’s just a competition to be the most politically correct by having the most letters.

Just a thought.
If you are going to use such 'signalling", then at least be inclusive about it. Your failure to add the "+" symbol at the end, excludes all those who do not identify as belonging to one of your 'designated' groups,
Tricky...ain't it...

Can’t wait for the annual BASC pan-gender LGBTBLTBBQ. Go woke, go broke. I won’t be renewing this year if that’s what you want to waste money on rather than addressing actual issues - but then that would be more difficult than just going all in on virtue signalling. The more diverse we can be the more inclusive we can become. And that includes LGBTQQIP2SA shooters.
Because men can't help telling women how to do it "properly".
Absolutely. The following article provides further insights to the one in the OP for those with an interest in this topic.Well encouraging more ladies to take up deer stalking or shooting in general is a great idea, and a worthy cause. I have taken a number of ladies out stalking, and in general they are a pleasure to be with and listen to the advice given. They are, as a rule very good shots.
There are lady deer stalking groups that have recently been formed, and have a growing and active membership on social media. Both of the founders have been stalking with me for free, and I am aware that other deer stalkers support their cause and help where needed.
A large estate I have managed the deer on for many years is run by a women gamekeeper, and she has made an excellent job of it, and is local chairperson for the NGO.
If BASC, BDS or NGO want to promote more women joining the sport, what's the issue?
Exactly this ^^^
- There are already well established groups supporting women's shooting which could do with a leg up from BASC.
- Support those groups to host events, dont rebrand & start your own when you can't even handle the issues you already have, it'll only stretch your finite resources.
And with that get more people to join their association, just like the stalking register it’s all smoke and mirrors to boost membership and fund their lavish meetings. It's not about the cause itself, it's the dipping into the easy win, public relations 'we care' signalling.
Unlike the majority of members on here you seem to understand this perfectly.I don't think you have to; we don't in most cases (treat them as if they are fragile and need help). Heck, I know some women that will shoot circles around most male shooters. But, to get them into the sport, it does help if they have a female nexus of other female shooters, to help them learn. Many men tend to "mansplain" crap to women, which is demeaning and off-putting to them. But, when they have other female shooters and good male instructors who don't talk down to them, they tend to flourish, and become life long members of a sport and lifestyle.
Case in point. 20 years ago, it was damned near impossible for women to find female sized waders, boots, trousers and what not, geared for the shooting sports. I remember hearing a couple women talking to each other about it, somewhere around 2002. It was only after getting a small toe hold in the shooting sports, that the apparel companies woke up and saw a market (albeit a small one at the time). That small market niche is now a multi-million dollar market space....which then encourages other women to participate in hunting, shooting, etc.
We joke about pink camo, but that was driven by women who wanted to playful version of camo to call their own. And other women responded in droves supporting it.
Anyways, JMTCW...
Exactly this^@Conor O'Gorman not that you or BASC will care 2 hoots enough is enough my membership is going to be cancelled before it’s renewal. If women want to shoot I’m sure they will. On our beaters day today I can think of 4 or 5 females who will be out. Not bad average when off the top of my head there will be 16 or so guns out. What concern of BASC is it the percentage of women own FAC or Shotgun Certificates. If women want to shoot they will. My partner (female) shoots well and will be with me on keepers day. She won’t shoot again for another year, not that she’s anti shooting (obviously) just that she prefers golf.
Personally I wish I could write things better than I do but I would suggest BASC have better things to fight than this.
In 2021, 93% of the nail technician workforce was female and 7% was male.
