Woodcock

Is there any recipes for these little guys besides the typical trussed legs with the beak then covered in bacon? I'm honest I am no ways keen to eat anything guts in so that's off the table they've hung since the 26th so about prime pickings, and I wouldnt be keen in general to eat them guts in with sitting so long.

Scott rea on YouTube has a good upload about woodcock, he does make a sauce from the guts but you can ignore that bit 👍

I made woodcock to Scott’s recipe for lunch today: delicious! Such a great way to make use of the whole bird.

I resisted the urge to follow it with a pint of port Churchill-style but then supposedly that was technically snipe (x2) and for breakfast…

I feel like I should post this photo I'm highly unfortunate to live in the middle of the town with no garden! I'll have to post a photo later today given this was a single bird (3 more woodcock and a good 10 pheasants to go.

Why no bag? carefully plucking feathers and attempting to place them in a bag (even If its between my legs) I've noticed takes way longer, this bird was done in 3-4 minutes the previous were a good 15 minutes.
I'm fortunate enough to have an option of two vacuums ones a shop vac, ones a shark both work very well picking up feathers.
