So...

the title should read NON working ....

breeding helps, but I kept 2 spaniels from my own bitch, one is a clone of her mother, if its possible to be more willing to work, and took to shooting like a duck to water,
the other loves being out and about and being with you, but average as a gundog,
guess which one will be bred from?
good to see someone knows which one to use . at least the 2 dogs you are talking about work

What about the owner of the stud dog. Can he/she not be of assistance in your quest. Surely it would be of benefit to them if their dogs pups went to a working environment.

Apart from that I'm a bit baffled here. The reason for wishing the pups to be docked is to be more appealing to the right type of owner. A home where the dog will reach it's full potential as a working dog and be properly cared for. I assume that your dog is docked. If so do you consider yourself to be the "wrong" owner in that you have bought a dog from good working lines but have not trained/used the dog to it's potential.
