Hey guys, I've seen a couple of posts in the last 12 months about yeti coolers which are definitely on the more pricey side and alot of you guys wondering wondering wether they are worth the money. I was given one for christmas and thought id do a quick review. Its the tundra that i was given, straight away the quality is just insane, feels like you could throw it out of a truck and it would be fine, great handles and latches, internally there's a basket like a proper chest freezer to keep important things near the top. its padlockable and certified bear proof ( handy i know! ) It also looks really cool.
I bought the yeti ice to go with it, these are proprietary ice packs that are made to fit exactly in the cooler base and have a lower freezing temp than water. they took 2 days to reach -18 in my chest freezer.
so i did a little test, i put in a vac packed raw shoulder of mutton on top of the yeti ice, there is easily room for 2/3 of butchered roe in my tundra 35 so this by no means filled it but i was seriously impressed. held it under 3'c inside the cooler for 4 days. outside temp was between 16 and 20 ( utility room )
Over the moon with it, i do a load of home kill, some fishing, stalking and enjoy camping so ill get a load of use from it. I'm sure there are cheaper coolers that are just as good but ive never seen anything as well built. the drinkware is also great. really recommend the gear! superfan!
