Your rarest bird on your Merlin app.

I see that several on the SD use the Merlin app. I use it often and today got this bird this morning which is a Golden Oriole. Quite rare but does migrate to East Anglia. Never heard of it before.
What's the rarest bird (feathered) you have picked up on the app?

Red crossbill when I was out stalking the other day but I’m not certain it got it right occasionally it does make mistakes

I did hear a very strange bird sound a couple of weeks ago. It came from a very small apple orchard at 2100hrs, sounded like "Pee, pee, pee, pee. pee, Churrrrr" repeated regularly for several minutes. Downloaded the Merlin App and sat the next evening. Not heard it since. 😥

I think it confuses this with something else as i also get this far far far too frequently

I'm currently abroad and it picked up both a curlew and a little ringed plover in a town. Both wouvd have been unsurprising outside the town.

Grass hopper warbler is my rarest, I heard it first and realised the sound was too strong for a grass hopper, merlin app confirmed it was a bird.
Am confident it's correct as it was heard and seen a quite a few times after first identification.

I’m rather pleased to hear that Merlin has a UK database as well. Wonderful app, and on my next trip over I’m glad to know it will let me add a bunch of your birds to my life list.

I’ve always enjoyed birdwatching and just his past Christmas my oldest daughter and I decided to use Merlin and start doing this in a deliberate manner.

Interesting. It sounded like the call that's on the app but couldn't get to see it due to all the foliage. Any idea what would sound like it?
