Yukon photon RT 6 x50s digital rifle scope

I'm also considering a Photon to swap between rifles one of which is heavy recoiling. The RT is rated to withstand heavy recoil. Does anyone know whether the XT can be used on a heavy recoiling rifle ?

Mine is on 6.5x55 so not heavy recoiling, sure they will be fine on heavier recoiling rfiles.

My shooting buddy has a Ward 800, its okay but not as good as my Photon 6.5x50XT, even he says so himself.

Ian.

Cheers for the Info Ian.
Am definitely going for the photon all you guys comments are just putting the icing on the cake for me.
Which IR illuminator are you running on yours Ian.

Agree with comments re sunranger vs Nightmaster. I have a T50 from the Torch factory with a red pill and it is better than my mates nightmaster when compared side by side.

Also couple weeks ago used a black sun 2 with Gen2+ unit and the range of the Black sun was mind blowing, far further than you would ever shoot.

We currently use a old Photon with doubler on a .17 Remington Fireball and its being doing the job for 1 year, so much so that the .204 with Drone has not been in the field.

I am using Tracer Ledray F900 which i purchased as a bundle with my Photon from Scott Country, i also have the 70mm head for it which when fitted and used together with the doubler enables me to actually see foxes outline at 400yds.

Plenty of good advice already Bri so I’ll try to keep it short. My foxing rig is Rem 700 22.250, Photon 6x50 XT, Ledray Tracer F900 IR with 70mm head. Coupled with thermal spotter its more than capable at the ranges you are wanting. Appreciate from your price indications thermal is probably out but I used hand held ir spotter before this though and works fine. Definately recommend the additional hand held spotter option though as scanning with the rifle/scope combo gets chuffing heavy! Not saying this set up is better or worse than other suggestions - just effective :thumb:

I will keep you all posted on the unit and let you no what it's like when I've had a few pops with it.
Going to marry it up with the nightmaster eclipse 1000 IR .
