Zeiss Seacam - set up advice

Hi folks.
Recently brought a few Seacam 1’s while they were on sale. I’m using them without the data plans so once a week I go round them with a USB-C stick and do a data download. Each camera is taking thousands of photos each week of absolute nothingness, sensitivity is set on low and one picture per trigger. Has anyone else experienced this with these? And how did you over come the issue?

Same here.

Also, cannot set the time! It’s stuck on auto, no manual option, and it’s well out. Software updated, turned off and on, usual stuff. Seems to have signal. Driving me round the bend, the time is correct when it pings my phone but not on the image.

It’s very frustrating, the only reason I purchased them is because I was so impressed with the 5 and 7 that I already had! They don’t have this issue at all

The time will correct itself eventually ,although 3 of my 3s have adjusted to BST and the fourth one hasn't.🤣

what is it mounted on ? the slightest movement of a tree for example will fool the sensor into thinking it has detected movement. ( you probably
know this anyway, but jus in case). big tree, gate post or seperate ground stake worked for me.

Possibly the movement of the sun - suns rays sets them off so can you turn it off for the daytime period when the sun is passing across the field of view? My Secacam 3s and 5s are generally set with a working time of late evening to early morning only or they do as you say and take lots of images of nothing (other brands have done the same but does depend a bit of direction they are facing and location).

They are an expensive way to have non-3G cameras though. If all you're doing is downloading the SIM card then a £20 eBay jobbie would do the same job. The main advantage of the Secacam is the remote operation and sending pics to your phone.

I have the 3s and now want to use them without sending the pictures to my phone I.E. look at the pictures when I come on site, I get no pictures at all now so I have done something wrong? help anyone

I have 3X secacam 3's and pay monthly for the prem plan. All work well but are sensitive to sunlight tracking past and any vegetation moving even when set to low sensitivity. Regular trimming around each camera site is done. Havent used off the plan as like the instant on the phone updates. Batteries last forever.
