Zeroing the HIK TQ when used as a front add on

Hi all
I have bought a TQ50 based on the positive comments and will only be using it as a front add on. My question is does anyone know of a set of clear instructions ref how to zero it, or failing that can anyone confirm my assumption below which is gleaned from other related posts?
Assuming my starting point is a correctly set up and zeroed day scope, then I fit the add on (to the scope adapter which must stay on the scope to avoid zero loss) and take a shot. Hopefully the shot is not too far from the day scope group, but assuming it’s off, then I press both the up/down keys to bring up the appropriate zero for add on menu, and then just use the +\- keys for x and y to move the screen so that the bullet hole made by the shot taken with the thermal add on fitted aligns with the day scope cross hair. I then press save and all is good?
many thanks 🤞

Thanks Bruce - appreciate the reply. One final question- any advice for how to mark the bullet hole as I don’t expect you can see it at 100m? Eg does black or aluminium tape work?

Honestly, when I did it last it was kinda suck it and see
Fire a shot, note the POI and measure how far off from the POA
Guess at x and y values and fire another shot and note the change in POI
repeat until POA and POI coincide
IIRC one digit change in x or y at 100m is about 1/2 inch

Cheers

Bruce
