To be fair, I could be disqualified from using the top ten films I already chose and still pick a good top ten.

HOWEVER...Is it just me, or are they not making many good films these days? Endless super hero combinations, Superman Vs Batman, The Green snot Vs The Flash and so on. Or just idiotic films just full of special effects and an abysmally weak storyline. Or Gone In 60 Seconds 6 or whatever that franchise is on now, where it's exactly the same story with a few choice cars rozzing around, only good for the boy racers of the world.

What if you were to name your best 10 films of the last 5 years? That would have me in a pickle.

Monty Pythons The Holy Grail
Blazing Saddles
idiocracy
Memphis Belle
Man on Fire
Highlander (ok, so it's not that good - but it is a cult classic)
LOR Return of the King
O Brother Where Art Thou
Full Metal Jacket (only the beginning during basic training)
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

Platoon
notting hill (just for spike)
aliens
jean de florette
manon de sources
the good, the bad and the ugly
empire strikes back
kill bill 1
kill Bill 2
reservoir dogs

Absolutely!
I don't remember the last time I saw a trailer for a new film and thought "yes, I have to go and see that".
I also think that special effects are used too much these days to prop up weak direction and acting.
