agree with all of this. Or go off the wall and choose a 30-06. 110gr for foxes all the way up to 220gr for anything else you fancy if a trip abroad grabs you.
I have never shot a 30-06 But from what I have read the recoil from this round is more than exceptable
but again if I was only shooting in the uk the swede would be top of my list with the 7x57 a very close 2nd
what it will boil down to is the majority of deer stalking rounds do the job well , it will be the one you like the look and size of the case and one you have every confidence in , with only one centre fire in the cabinet there is always going to be compromises ie too big to use on this , to small to use on that , stock dimensions no good for 1000yrd plinking but great as a sporter ect, go tactical and can use it for everything although will be a bit of a lump carrying it about all day

good luck , I have gone down to one rifle twice and every time I wish I had 2nd just incase, it's not shooting well , needs zeroing, ran out of reloading components ect
