Powys/Shropsire Days Seminar by UKSHA (all welcome)

Was a pleasure meeting all of you, thanks must go to Gaz and an absolutely excellent venue with a stunning view.
Very well done Gaz,anytime anyone in the UK wants to do similar to Gaz and the guys in Powys/Shropshire please don't hesitate to contact us,we are more than glad to help people.
I can't get over how few deer there are in this type of countryside, beautiful part of the country.
Thanks for having us.
All the best
George

One of the interesting part of the demo was the comparison of the 270 130grn tsx against the 130 grn sst at 10 mtrs.
The tsx penciled through and the sst blew the side out of the dead deer.

It shows how important matching bullets to your quarry is, if using lead free make sure you go down on size and drive them fast, copper does not react the same as lead but can be very good if you downsize from your normal weights used in lead I am glad you all enjoyed the day messages have been coming in with how much people did take away some useful info and its sparked a real interest in tracking for some of you so thanks for everyone who came, all the best Wayne

A great day Gary, well done for organising. Congratulations to George, Wayne and Lee for taking such a professional approach to an animal welfare issue which we will all unfortunately encounter at some stage. Of course the stars of the day were the hounds, the sight of Wayne's 17 month old German bred pup tracking a scent trail was a sight to behold. Dave

Folks, apologies the videos are not available yet, I have a pants connection speed from home so have time to go and cut the grass during even the smallest video upload. Please subscribe to this thread and/or the UKSHA main sticky Uksha follow up and strike site - Page 24 to get the notifications of when things become available.

Regards

Geoff

Thanks Dave I am looking forward to seeing what she is like at 17 months but she is only 17 weeks and with such a large amount of distraction from sheep to 20 odd people and with the dry conditions also she did do very well, one proud dad here thanks again

Thanks for all the kind words and message chaps , it was a pleasure to be able to set this seminar up in the first place. My appreciation to George Wayne Lee and Geoff for a great educational day. The commitment, time and distance you UKSHA guys put in to better an injured animals welfare is second to none. Also watching Theckla on track, working out the six hour old scent trail was brilliant in its own right. After all the years of stalking some of the tips at a shot site was another great learning curve.
My thanks must also go to Jon Archer of Criggion Estate for the use of his awesome man cave for the power point presentation etc. Thanks to all who attended which made the day a great success. One last thought is ; I don't quite know why GEORGE was so shy . Regards Gary

Sorry Wayne, I did mean to put 17 WEEKS.

Gary and the UKSHA team, thank you all for a fascinating and very educational day. The passion and dedication, let alone the enthusiasm exhibited on this day by the UKSHA squad has to be seen to be believed. This site has a massive membership and I would urge any member on this site to make the effort and see these guys if you have the opportunity. The welfare of your quarry is at the top of their agenda and let's be honest we can all make mistakes and these gentlemen really do want to help. Go see them.
Once again gents thank you very much.

John
