The West Country could have independence. The north of England too. Probably two independent countries, one each side of the Pennines. Scotland, really is two different countries, there's the central belt downwards and the Highlands. Wales might make one or two and of course Northern Ireland.
Following on from that, we could go back to tribal city states with each tribe fighting for surrounding land every summer. So long as everyone got back to harvest the crops that weren't laid waste in the warring season.
Or perhaps these separate countries came together for the common good. Keeping their identities yet providing a unified front to the world. Maybe that's how the British Empire flourished. Although the days of Empire are gone, a unified front still cuts the mustard. Of course that means sometimes bowing to a majority decision sometimes. Something Sturgeon can't grasp it seems.
