Shooting with a catapult

If you are worried about shooting within 50 feet of the centre of a highway should you also consider that controling corvids to protect song birds falls out side of the open general license?
Jake

Not so sure on that one Jake I think you would be ok. Though suspect if someone was that way out they could try and find a way of doing it or getting out of it. Rook pie for instance.

Anyways Mods can lock the thread now the answers have been presented job done. :)

The other question you should ask yourself is whether or not a catapult is considered a humane method of dispatch?
The General Licence states:
You must still follow animal welfare laws and kill birds in a quick and humane manner.
If the RSPB or similar decided to prosecute you, what would your defence be? I would not think that a catapult would be deemed as accurate enough to be deemed humane?

Well they managed to get bows and crossbows banned on animal welfare grounds, which are easier to be accurate with, so you have a point!
