In Short no,

I will steer clear of anything associated with Evans Halshaw. It will not be worth the paper it is written on.
I placed a deposit on a vehicle at EH darlington citroen, I did not sign any paperwork that binds me to the sale and I was never informed that the deposit is no refundable at anytime. My circumstances changed a couple of days 2 days later and this made me withdraw my intention to purchase.

seing that i did not sign anything, and never informed In any shape that my deposit is not refundable, I asked for it back which was met with rudeness, and all of a sudden informed me the deposit is not refundable.

numerous emails to the dealership principle, with no reply I contacted the financial ombudsman to wich they informed me that they can not do anything as Evans halshaw is not registered with the FSCS.

Evans Halshaw is not registered with the FSCS, they fail to mention that on their ads.

so if you deal with Evans Halshaw be very careful.

evans halshaw citroen darlington north yorkshire is like a illegal car racateur.

steer clear.

all the best

i had a problem with landrover main dealer with an extended warranty claim ,fuel tank leak! it was a landrover recall, they had the car two days gave it back saying all work done, two weeks later leaking again took it to a franchised dealer as it was leaking very badly, any way they did the repairs in front of me and showed the faulty fuel pipes five in a harness and the main dealers employee had cut out and taped together, took the part to the main dealer with the bill for repairs and got told they had carried out a fuel line replacement and were not interested at all .so i was out of pocket for £360 plus a tank of diesel and still had 18 months of paid for extended warranty with landrover.went though the complaints system and got shafted! as i had not given the dealer a second chance to fix the problem.never again.

Simon just curious why if you changed your mind (due to a change in circumstances) and consequently had to withdraw from the deal you should think that they would be required to repay your deposit?
The fact that you never signed a formal order form is pretty much immaterial, I assume that you will have had a receipt for the deposit you paid.

Still waiting for the reciept, EH said it was for them to bring the car to the dealer and subject to my final inspection the deal can go through. I withdrew my intention before the vehicle was delivered to the dealer. The bloke said that they where going to repay my Deposit because no cost was incured.

like most insurance/finance there is a 14 day period where you can cancel.

Just wanted my money back, not like I made them wait and gave them any false hope. It was a couple of days.
