New format?

So what has happened to any photo's I have uploaded over the years as attachments in various threads.
Can't find them now, so having to re-upload pics as and when.

Also can't find the threads I have subscribed to.
I have items for sale and can no longer find the threads easily.

Neil.

If they were as attachments to this site then they should still be there! Give me some links to posts...

Ok the new format what do I think so far ? well I find its easy to navigate everything seems simple enough so far I usually use a laptop for the site and rarely my android device however the new format is excellent for the android much better than before I have just returned from a weekend away and using my phone is on par with or even better than my laptop maybe admin aren't so slow after all in a world where iPhone and android are the place to be SD is up there with the best of them getting to like it a lot cheers

This is todays analytic report...

As you see, tablets and mobiles are now are as important as PCs!

Read second part of post, no way of finding them anymore.

Actually I was assuming the pics would still show, more making the point that attachment are no longer listed and as such are not editable, and can't be re-linked to new posts.

Here’s one of yours as as example...

The attachment is still there, you can find the thread (typing “rifle rabbit” with ”Hornet 6” as the member) so I’m not sure what the problem is?

I don’t know if it is Hornet 6’s problem but I cannot find the list/directory of photos I have uploaded. I was at the limit of the 20mb and need to be able to access the images in order to delete some of the old ones. Unless the 20mb quota no longer pertains...

Is there anything I can do to keep my iPhone logged in? I always tick the “keep me logged in” box but it always needs me sign in again. The iPad and MacBook are remembered and automatically logged in as soon as I visit the site on them.

I don’t know, have you got the shortcut saved right: The Stalking Directory

You can try wiping Website Data on the iPhone (although note that website passwords will be need to be logged in again!)

Yes, there is no quota system on attachments because we did away with it.

That's brave of you, as many these days simply post their 2640x4080 res pics straight to the site. The newer phones will offer a startling 7200x8640 resolution which with a bit of compression will be around 12MB each ....
Does the forum software resize automatically prior to storage ?

Up to a point... it won’t resize enormous images without someone resizing them first...

I suppose if the site can cope with the storage/quota then the efficiency of linking to an existing image is not as important as it once was...still it was an efficient way of answering a repeated question and I used it a few times when the same subject came up.

The only images that appear in my "media" list are the couple went into my gallery by mistake when I first tried to upload images, rather than the bulk of images which were subsequently uploaded in ordinary thread posts. It would be nice to regain access to them for re-linking purposes.

Alan

If it’s simply re-uploading the same file then that is exactly what the gallery is good for because rather than uploading again you can just post the link in your message.

It is all the old images (20mb worth!) that I have already posted to the site...that I used to be able to browse, manage and link to that I have not managed to find and do not appear in my new media list...that I would like to access again.

Of images and the displaying...

I notice in the forum (not classified or conversations) you can click on the "Insert Images" (Ctrl+P) and directy upload (click to browse or drag and drop) or add a URL, yet in 'Classifieds" or "Conversations" you only have the 'link to a URL' option ...
Bloody nuisance when selling something as you have to make an album in 'your media', upload the image to there (or have some external hosting) and then copy/paste the link into the post ....
