Thanks have tried other primers still the same .headspace checked ok and foreign pin, speaking to other rem owners its down to slight space in foreign hole in bolt. Are there any other signs of high pressures? If not, I'd go for a change of primer.
If that doesn't sort it I'd have the headspace and firing-pin checked
N 120 s+What powder are you using
down to slight space in foreign hole in bolt.
Shouldn't be more than a thou, and max' 0.003" I think? I'm puzzled if the harder primers are still resulting in cratering though, especially with the load you're usingYou may need to have the bolt face bushed to reduce the aperture size? What's the profile of your firing-pin tip like? Is it rounded, or is it more sharp-edged? If so, perhaps deburring it will prevent too much weakening of the primer?
Thanks it very slight not noticed when I used reloader 15.I only change powder due used up reloaded and mates said give Bit,local shop rec the 120. I have only loaded 40 rounds and can't afford not to use it up .Doesn't sound like too much of a problem. I get craters around the firing pin with highish loads in my Sako.
tablet I am using keeps cutting out on me ,and reading what I have entered seems to change when sent. Please bear with me , but it will make a great target in a couple of weeks
