Hi,
Just a quick request to see if anyone is interested in some information; I have just returned from Africa and have experienced some awesome shark fishing from the shore in the Eastern Cape. I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in reading an article about it. I am just not sure if this be of interest to anyone wishing to combine it with their plains game trip?

A late friend of mine used to go to Namibia, fishing for sharks, (Bronze Whalers?) from the shore, and after a few trips he got to shoot some mammals, not sure what sort.

I caught Bronzies to 90Kg (it was a big male but the females go much bigger), had a 141 KG ragged tooth and a load of other back up species. We had 2 Great whites in our spot one evening. Cant seem to upload photos here for some reason, got some great pics

Yes please.

Bronze whaler off the beach, nile perch and mako on my bucket list!
Ive done Nile perch a few times too, great fun but not what it used to be on lake Nasser. Murchison falls the way forward but can be pricey unless you know the right people

Cant wait to see them!

Caught some blue sharks on a fishing trip out from Ireland.
The skipper of the boat caught a portbeagle shark off Islay in 2012.
Not as big as the ones mentioned in above threads, but a 7ft portbeagle would certainly be an interesting catch in local waters.

My Dad caught the first recorded Blue Shark off Branden Head in 1972.
We were in a open clinker boat with a English skipper called Brian Smith who with his wife gave up the fast London lifestyle and brought a boat!!
I will try and dig out the pictures and his badge they sent him.

One of my Carp customers tells me they have caught Porbeagles from Portland Bill, using a balloon to get the tackle out far enough. His mate caught a c66lb Cod from the shore in Norway, using a similar method, I think.
