Farm Manager, tied accommodation 130,000 broilers!
So just as another thought Lee, your a trade member so presumably selling stalking you live in a tied house so after deductions your wages are yours so spend as you wish and with the greatest of respect you can't save up a decent dipper for a property, jeez your wages must be shocking for a manager matey I feel for you.
Perhaps if you stayed at home more instead of wanting to nip over tothe EU to hunt at the drop of a hat you may be able to save a little quicker.
Forgive my sarcasm please but you can only spend it once and obviously if you're doing all these invite drop of a hat trips you were worried you wouldn't be able to do after us leaving instead of saving for a property then that's obviously what you'd prefer to do.
Your money spend it as you wish but don't say you can't afford one thing and blame it on the economy when you're spending your money on other things

All funds from clients from the stalking go straight to the land owner and in exchange for stalking.

I have nothing to do with the money side of it at all.

I get invites to drive hunts for boar in Germany and my friends from the continent get free cwd and muntjac, that’s why I do it.

My last 2 trips to the continent cost tunnel fare and fuel nothing else, not for the want of trying to pay my way I assure you.

I pay for nothing on the continent and my guests pay nothing when they come to me.

As with regards to my job if I worked out my wage for the hours I do it would be below minimum wage hourly rate.

But it’s horses for courses, some crops are easy and others are not, it’s swings and roundabouts!

Ah right sorry my mistake not your farm then.

I have thought about buying my farm, I would need £1,2 million to buy it, on a awesome crop you can make £20-30k profit that’s when feed pice is good and that depends on wheat and soya prices on the world market.

When things are bad you can loose £20-40k

Spoke to the land owner I do the client stalking the other day and no arable crops are being exported right no due to the brexit I certainty.

It’s plain to see the US and Russia want us to do a hard no deal brexit, then if that happens and we have no trade deals they will then export their arable crops into Europe there for cutting the uk out of the market.

It’s very clear to see if you talk to the right people.

I've known keepers in tied cottages who moan about not being able to save for a house while learning to fly light aircraft at £60 an hour and wearing Rolex watches and gold chains draped with sovereigns. Anyone in a tied house can buy a house to rent out and have all the tax relief as if they were living in it, IE, no capital gains tax to pay when it goes up in value, and is sold.
It's all down to priorities in life, but too many people realise they want to own a house about 10 years later than they could have.

But you must be doing 6+ crops a year, and with Crop Credit, you don't pay for the feed up front. It's better that dairy farming ever was.

5.5 crops a year our contract is frowning heavy birds, new feed contracts are now 30 day payment so are chicks, my gaffer is on crop credit as that was on the agreement he has always been on.

I’ve already had a discussion with my boss about renting the farm from him and going it alone but it’s too much risk for the banks to Swallow for an independent grower.

I cant just swap over onto my Bosses existing agreements as I would be a new customer.

I use 600 ton every 7.5 weeks at an average of £260 per ton Thats £81,000 per month feed and £46,800 for chick costs within the first month, plus general running costs.

Rather like the UK government found out when they tried to negotiate trade deals as an independent country.
Kindest regards, Olaf

No! And the chlorine washed chicken and the beef and pork from cattle dosed to within an inch of its life with anti-biotics? And I assume that people know that there is foot and mouth in the USA...so it'll be in some of their exported meat Liam Fox will be happy to see arriving here too?

I don't believe it! That the USA and Russia supported the Leave Campaign because they knew that for the USA and Russia that a UK Leave would be of great benefit to the interests of Washington and Moscow? Who would ever have thought that Trump stooge the nice Mr Bannon and the nice Mr Putin would have been so motivated.

I hadn’t actually got that far!

Also dealing with the WTO other countries will come into play like Brazil and Thailand who can produce poultry for a fraction of the cost we here in the UK can produce it!

Brazilian chicken was apparently on an import ban due to them fiddling their salmonella paperwork, but how long that will last who knows.

NEWS YESTERDAY BRITISH DAIRY FARMERS CANT WAIT TO CUT TIES WITH THE EU ,AND LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.plus the eu/ireland has a great record on horse meat record ability ,but hey what doesn,t kill you makes you stronger!;)

I think you'll find that chickem from Thailand already features in in a lot of supermarket ready-meals and their chiller cabinets, so how are things going to change ?

youve got to be joking ,im sick to the back teeth of the eu thats why i voted to leave!

:lol::lol::lol::lol: I little light reading for you there!

Fed up with the EU you might be but do you actually understand politics and all the implications leaving?

Do you understand the world markets in food stuffs, wheat soya, all the day to day things we as a nation need.

Without trade deals where is it all going to come from?

Real tough times are coming.
