Governments not listening to the people ? Never more apparent than when blair was waving his dodgy dossier around looking to start the war in iraq. Thousands out on the street protesting. It still happened.

I agree with you that our past governments are as slippery as eels . Just look at the kind of rubbish Mrs May is spouting at the moment.
Given the dishonest Lot that we have at present, I don’t think I could vote for any of them in a general election.
Assuming that we get a no deal Brexit, and have to try to trade on WTO rules, I wouldn’t trust any of these dishonest people to act in our interests, assuming that is that they were even capable of forming new and beneficial trading agreements with other Markets .
As things stand, the UK Has a very powerful voice within the EU if it retains its present position. Mrs Mays deal is an absolute joke and should be scrapped.
I’ve absolutely no problem with the UK being a stand alone country , it already is. It’s consecutive UK governments that have abused the freedom that this country has as members of the EU.
If we were to cancel article 50 and remain strong EU members , we could improve things here in the UK far more than if we leave with a no deal or a crap deal. The EU will never ever give us or any other country a better deal than a bad one. Because it protects its members.
And we are and can still be one of those members. There is nothing stopping the UK from leaving when it’s actually got a government that functions!
Kindest regards, Olaf

you seem to be fairly opinionated on this stuff so could you tell me what the yellow vests is all about in the eu countrys and why they are protesting ?

People suffering from the effects of globalism, and the eu too i reckon, one woman on the street was being interviewed and she said after her months work, her salary barely covered the bills, certainly nothing left over, one stumble though and its curtains. Macaroon will be gone shortly i reckon, along with the soy-boy part time, drama teacher trudeau in Canada, and hopefully a few more around europe.

I can see in my lifetime ( only 44) & sooner rather than later a real case or period of anarchy !

Things are on a knife edge .... & wouldn’t take much of a push to put it over the edge

I mean real anarchy ... curfew on the streets and major looting mobbing army on the streets type deal !

Im sick of politicians and their nose in trough mentality .... more n more obvious and blatant their way of operating ...

A major change is needed

And those we put in charge on our behalf need to be held accountable for their actions

Lest we forget .... they serve us

I have been saying this for the past few years, ever since trump got elected or maybe slightly before. There is huge disatisfaction all over the world, and right and left seem to be getting more and more extreme. Sooner or later it will kick off. There is a feeling that something huge is going to kick off sooner or later.

My thoughts and feelings exactly !
Although I’ve felt it for longer .... since London riots few years ago

My old man been saying for years it’s coming and I thought “ ohh Christ here we go again” when he said it ....
But now?........

I've been saying for some time that we are on the brink of serious civil unrest and it won't take a lot to push it over the edge !

the current government and their opposition are not helping either with their arrogant disregard of the peoples democracy !

we need a strong leader to take charge , make a few actual decisions and get on with Brexit as we've currently wasted 2.5 years nearly and we are in a bigger mess than if we had just left , stopped paying the eu and got on with it!

I think we have deliberately been kept in the dark about what goes on in mainland Europe for fear of strengthening the LEAVE argument.

Well, In the case of France, i believe that there is a proportion of the society that voted in Macron expecting to see a break away from the stale and, some would say, discriminatory political establishments favour of the extremely wealthy, that have cause them much financial hardship.
I think that the protesters movement is quite interesting to observe as it actively tries to protect itself from any leadership and tries to function in a leaderless ‚horizontal ‚ way. Something that wouldn’t have worked very effectively before social media. I think that another reason for their desire to maintain it as a leaderless movement is because it’s main activism comes from extreme far left groups and also extreme far right groups.
My personal opinion is that it’s a real shame that some of these people have taken it upon themselves to use Chaos and inflict violence which has resulted in thousands of injuries and several deaths.
I’d agree that there is a wide public discontentment in many countries around the world where multinational companies have created some very big wealth divisions in certain places and political parties have just sucked up the taxes in a short term self serving way.
The sad thing is, Brexit will make Britain far more divided, many poor communities even poorer , and the Ultra rich even Wealthier.
The irony of it all is that the Ultra rich people and businesses that funded the leave campaign over a long period of time, targeted the very people that brexit would make more vulnerable to get Brexit over the line.
If we want change in this country, where things are fairer for the poor and UK Industry is given a new lease of life then it’s our Government that needs changing. And we can do that by voting in a general election. Leaving the EU economic block is just a Strange and damaging thing to do to our economy, at a time where our country could really flourish, given the inward focus our country now has for positive change and improvement.

Kindest regards, Olaf

I think it functions as leaderless because of two reasons , firstly they are sick of pretend leaders and secondly with a leader the government would have a target whereas they can't just arrest everyone can they?

I like how you brought your remain mantra into this , thereby showing a remainers true colours which is the desire to ignore the democratic vote and do everything to spread misinformation, you say it will be damaging to our economy whereas what you should say is it might be damaging to our economy or it might not because we frankly just don't know do we if your honest it all depends on whos guesses you want to believe ?

Remoaners are the disaster awaiting this country.
But don't worry in times of extreme danger presented by these the enemies of Britain, Drake's Drum will sound and King Arthur will ride from Avalon to save the True Brits.
