You guys really rack up the foxes. It makes me think back to the late 70s when a prime red was worth $90. With the number of fox that you guys grass, one could make a living if the price was still what it was. Ahhh, the good old days.

The Tannery in canterbury used to pay 10 bob for a fox pelt or £1.10 if it had no holes in it, made a fortune in my teens :fox:

Using wires was the in thing them days, didn’t waste money on cartridges :old:

Was in the garden at 6.30 pm shot freehand with .243 in adjoining field. Big hole in side caused by 75 grn v max. That put end to the chicken thieving.

Got one crafty (vixen?) by the farm who is giving me a real challenge. She’s evaded lamp via Landy, Polaris and foot and Nightvision over bait and on foot and being really unpredictable. Seen her the last three nights but she’s never in a shootable spot and has stopped following a routine! Can’t even find the earth where she must be living. I know she has to be lucky every time but she’s giving my foxing skills a workout that’s for sure!

Shot 2 pregnant vixens last Thursday eve and saw 2 more. I think I have also a big lone dog fox to get.

I can't fathom out where they are all coming from, now we have dispatched 4 pregnant vixens all within 1,000 yds of each other. 2 separate locations with them only being a couple of hundred yards apart. None of the vixens looked anywhere close to having cubs, so late March looks on the cards. Extrapolating back that means mating approx 1st week in Feb but we heard a minimum of calling this year.

Still not had a vixen in absolutely yonks. I had a dog at the weekend, another last night but had nothing earlier when I popped out for an hour. The wind was blowing and it was biting. Badgers seemed to be the only things hardy enough to be out with the crescent moon tonight.

Is there any way to turn this into an info gathering post ie ,,,,dog fox in perthshire tonight,,,, +relevent weather conditions, so we can gather real info,,,,, rather than a ****ing contest on who can shoot the most the fastest,,,, no insult meant to anyone ,,,,,,just think we can as a site gather relevent info to cover the country,,, just not sure how it could be set up
Info required imho ,,,
Location
Sex
If female is it pregnant or lactating
Weight
Weather ,temp, dry,windy etc

Willing to put in time to help sort info if a system could be put in place to display and send info to relevent conservationists

Cheers
Ray
