Hmmmmm! Dodgy skyline shot!!

Cam, should we include ourselves in this PC sounding board thingy,? as I wouldn't want to feel left out!:D

Hi finnbear

if you feel you take shots that should not be taken then yes.:D
You have a responsibility when using a firearm, and if you are taking any shots that are unsafe or that could possibly injure another animal or human. Then you should not be shooting. when using dangerous equipment you should do everything within your powers to keep everyone and thing around you safe. (except your chosen target)

I feel if you have a FAC and need to be told this then do you relay think you should hold an FAC in the first place.

PS this is not aimed at anyone its just not worth the risk.

If you think the moose shot was borderline look at these assholes shooting down a gravel track in woodland

OH MY GOD, It beggars belief how dangerous this is

id guess they are in canada or simmilar and there if probably 10000 square miles of nothing behind it, the guide fella would know and wouldnt let him shoot if it was dangerous or they have very good insurance and a friend who's a judge

Personally thats a dodgy shot, its uphill and browline, I like to know where the bullet will stop!

Although if you shoot alot and require a job to be done, you know you will never gt enough opportunites if you only take shots with perfect backstops, as long as there is a decent flat field where the bullet will drop behind it is safe enough but never take uphill shots as the law of sod says it will clear all obstacles on its way to hitting something else.

If you look carefully at the video, you can see the guide carrying a paddle.Just after the bang/smack the guest is seen handing the paddle back to the guide. I personally think he twa**ed the moose with the paddle:norty:

300 win mag on a fox

Perhaps the alternative was staying at home and doing some gardening maybe a little light pruning.

Since I see my name was invoked....

There were some interesting comments made in this thread. The best among them in my opinion was:
My problem with this sort of thread, if you'll allow me to have such a problem, is; we are criticising fellow sportsmen who clearly didn't feel the shot was wrong (for whatever reason) and we're doing it on the strength of a video which was not taken through the scope of the shooter and which doesn't neccessarily represent a fair picture of what actually occurred. I'm guessing they thought there was plenty backstop, but maybe you should ask them.

The most 'astute' among them being:
This is fast becoming the PC brigades sounding board,

And finally, my response to the almost incomprehensible arrogance of this one:
just make sure you dont walk out with me and take a shot like that you right ear would have been ringing for a week.
Duly noted. There'll be no "walking out with you" by me. And in the context of what's good for the goose is good for the gander - You should be likewise warned: A little while after boxing my ear you'll find yourself waking up, alone, on your back with at least a broken nose.

Gitano you are right about one thing and that is you will never walk out with me i demand safe shots walk with me and were i live there is always some one over that horizon.;)
