Hi All.

I hope to move on my 20 tac and go to a .222 rem when the ticket lands on my desk on Monday.

anyone using 40 gr in their .222 rem,...if yes

what's the twist of your barrel (1 :14) and barrel length
what powder and how many grains?

thanks

bob.

With many powders the difference between minimum and maximum for 222 (and 223) is two grains. IT's really best to pick a powder and start at the bottom and work up. It's not a long climb. There are few 'bad' powders listed for the triple deuce.~Muir

just shopping, think ill move on the 20 tac and move to the 222 just for a change and ease of brass ( I have loads of 20 tac) but just fancy a change.

hope you are well.

I use both 40 Vmax and 52 Amax in my 222. But I must say I have gone the other way my 20 Tac gets most use. The 222 when I have worked up a new load with Vihtavuori N133 will be my NV rifle. I was using H4895 but that’s not an option now.
If I was not loading for the 20 and the two weights in 222 I would probably use N130 for the 40’s. But N133 suits the 39 and 50 grain in the Tac as well as the 222. A bit of a compromise possibly but I don’t have unlimited funds to buy a powder for each.

Hello Rob
I am reloading for a guy's 222 with 40 gr Nosler #51005 using N133. However to get this to shoot well I was having almost a compressed (if not compressed) load at over 106% fill. Next time I do his ammo I will probably switch him over to N120.

As a TAC 20 shooter myself I can only think you will regret saying goodbye to it after it has gone!!
