H I’m after some advice, In my local gun shop they are selling a leopold vx2 4.5-14x50 for £450 any thoughts? scope to go on a .243

I’m not a fan of leupolds. I find the eye relief awkward (and yes I have owned one). If I had £450 burning a hole in my pocket I would be looking at a 2nd hand Schmidt, Swaro or Zeiss. Maybe a new vortex if tacticool is your thing.
Definitely try it mounted to your 243 in the gun shop if it’s possible and compare to others in stock

Hi I have a vx 3 4.5-14x50 on my 308 had it for about 8 years and I can't folt it very good in low light . I also have a4.5-14 x50 30mm tube side focus mil dot with target turrets this lives on my 223 had this for about 10 years ,I wouldn't consider changing any of them .i think £450 is a fair price for a very nice scope good luck

I also have a vx3 4.5-14x50 fitted to a .243. Great in low light and personally I think the quality of the glass is just as good, if not equal to some of my European made scopes. My Binos are also Leopold and I love them, had them for over 10 years now.

I have a better one for sale ;)
I have 4.5-14x56 vx3l. Been using it on my sauer 404 in 243. Only reason I am selling it is it does not work that great with NV add-on as my normal vx3 does
Drop me a message if interested

I use a Leupold VX-2 1-4x20 Duplex on my BSA Hunter in .222 Remington and I love it. Light weight, clear picture, plenty of adjustment range. Brilliant!

Seems too expensive for a VX2, as said, you could easily get a VX3 for that price. Leupold not noted for their last light capabilities, if that’s an issue

I like Leupold. But the uk prices are silly in comparison to the states. Also the lack of supplier and i felt back up when I was looking for a top scope. But my wife and I like the ones we have. But do shop around there is a few older ones that can be a good deal at the minute.

Look at the minox ZE line seen them for £550. Good glass 25 year warranty minox uk easy to deal with. Look in the optics section.

As said above, get the vx3i for similar money. I have one as a spare, I thought I was up grading when I bought a 2nd hand swaro Z4i off here but in reality the low light performance was virtually the same. The vx3i suited the gun better but left the swaro on only because of the illuminated dot.

Get a vx3i not a vx2.
£435 from the states + delivery/tax but worth it!
