Season 8 of ME is now on Netflix -worth a look especially for the 3rd episode on Sika in the US

Thanks for the heads up on this watching the new season now, ive always liked meat eater as its a million miles away from the normal blood lust, ye hah and high fives that you get from most american hunting programes.

There are Sika in Chesapeake bay, eastern shore. I met local hunters there last year. Introduced in early 1900s apparently. I haven’t watched the new series yet but that is where episode 3 is based.

The ones on the new series are 100% Sika they have been around Maryland for a few years now

What I like about the 'Meat Eater' series is that it also shows bad shots, wounded animals, long follow-ups, missed opportunities and schoolboy errors. Just like in real hunting then, when not everything always goes to plan.
What I don't like is the questionable practise of gralloching with bare hands and the often disastrous shot placement, in particular with Bow hunting, which appear to be more acceptable in the USA than it is over here.
