I struggle getting wellies on, but particularly getting them off, due to limited movement in my ankle joints.

Can anyone recommend a brand that is easy to get on and off?

I'd say u want an old fashioned normal pair of wellies with no lining.
Nora's or Dunlop's are both decent boots that last a while even wearing them everyday.

My dad had that problem with his 1st pair of neoprene lined boots, he in typical dad fashion wore plastic bags over his socks. Stupid as it is it did work forgetting his boots off.
He tried full zips etc but went back to normal boots

You will find the Jack Pyke full zip neoprene lined ones area pleasure, bought my first pair last winter, and I am delighted with them, about £65 on fleabay cracking shade of green too.

My Grubs are fairly rigid at the foot and flexible at the top making them a breeze to get on and off.

Unlike my Chemous that are almost fitted at the ankle and need to be peeled off after a walk.

You scan use boot pulls on the loops of Skellerup Quattro's, and a boot jack to remove, as with more or less any other brand; the skellerups are good value, and not too hard to remove without a jack.

I use Aigle full zip neoprene lined and find them great. Tend to only wear wellies when it’s proper wet.

The Aigle are the Quality of Le Chameu & a shade heavier on the foot but 1/2 the price and much more robust. I have had 2pairs that have both lasted well unlike my one and only experience with Le Chameu

Local Agricultural merchant had some great deals on Barbour full zip recently (£85) found the fit was not right for my feet but someone somewhere will be very happy

I’ve Aigle non zipped leather lined and they are hard work to get off but even harder work to get back on if jus taken off for a short time.

Another vote for Skellerup, my Quattro Sports are very easy to put on and take off and are easily the best wellies I’ve had and over the years I’ve had Le Chameaus, Aigle, Harkila and Hunters.

Now this might raise a howl of protest but think on if you really have severe ankle problems.

As some of you know I had a below knee amputation and have a prosthetic which means the ankle is as good as locked at 90deg. Initially I was bu**ered when it came to wellies. I have always had Chameau full zips but the gusset prevented the boot going on.
In the garage I had a serviceable odd left boot left over from the last pair that got damaged. All i did was neatly slit the gusset and the boot, when unzipped fully, fitted easily and fold the gusset back across behind the zip as I did it up, it remained waterproof unless i actually stood in water, ok for muddy ditches etc.

When I need a new pair I shall not hesitate to slit the gusset again.

Willowbank.
