BASC Council Elections.

@kes I've been following this from you original post and whole heartedly support you in your efforts to change BASC from within, as would many on this site.

You seem to be prempting the outcome, we have a lot of ifs buts and maybes but nothing is yet certain.

I hope you will reconsider and put in your request for membership. I doubt it will be rejected. If it is it will be the signal for us all to look for another organisation to join as clearly it will be an indication that they are not going to change and are resisting any attempt to change.

If your membership is accepted then please harness the support you have on here to get your nomination for council in by the 30th Jan deadline and we can then all mobilise to get you elected.

I am sceptical like kes,if they where in the least bit interested in whoever wants to stand or our interests at all for that matter ie docs/cops etc ,as he says they monitor this place ,surely one of them could stand up and reply to him,but no they dont want to rock the boat or stand out from the crowd they are all the same give us your cash and go away ,we will deal with things in our own time/way. vote with your feet and your cash and walk away!

Worth having a look at the "BASC Insurance" thread if you doubt that the CEO could have replied to my letter, since the site is always monitored by them.
Perhaps now some may see why I chose not to join without a response to my letter concerning membership - mind you, its still not too late David - I'll continue to assume the negative until I receive a positive response - not holding my breath.

I think we should move away from examining why Kes isn't standing and make a decision on whether we should field another candidate.

Or, has this taken the wind out of our sales and so we walk away? I know I personally feel a little bit demoralised by the setback; however, I would happily throw my support behind someone else if a new member steps forward.

I am really reluctant just to give up on BASC.

Kind regards,

Carl

Sails; not sales...

Be handy for me , 5 miles up the road,... but only when hell froze over ......
I believe it would have to be someone who is a member of BASC now. But what is very disappointing is that the council members that are there now are not pushing for these changes. As more police forces make the medical letter part of the renewal /application process. The more BASC members are going to be complaining to BASC and if people think this is not coming they are not living in the real world. It is coming because no one has put up any resistance to it.
