Sir Guy Wallace - The End of the Game

Did this ever appear on iplayer? I looked for it a few days ago and it said unavailable. Did I miss it? Is there anywhere else it can be watched online?

It as not shown in the UK, the BBC in there wisdom thought other countries might want to see it. They have now issued a statement saying they will show it here later in the year.

So they would rather show it to the rest of the world first and rake loads of money it, rather than show it to the people who fund their corrupt business.
Not really a surprise i suppose.

Neil.

I watched the programme and found the hunting scenes interesting.
Very impressed with the professionalism of the outfitter.
Didn’t find GW’s casual racism so entertaining. Especially as he clearly knew it would offend (as when overheard by the black man fixing the car in safari). To his credit even the South African outfitter reminded GW that certain things were not said anymore.

I think GW was raised in a different era. The world has in moved on a bit since then, thankfully. It may still have a bit to go yet though.

He was one of the early members of the Services Branch of the Deer Society and helped formulate the questions for the original Woodland Stalkers Certificate, him and John Childs with one or two others whose names I can't remember it was so long ago. 1980 ?

Thoroughly enjoyed the programme and the insight into Guy’s life from both sides.
Did he ever find his teeth?

Thank you Lloyd90 for finding and posting it.

Do you expect people to change because the law changes?

I have no idea if anything GW said would be considered illegal or not, nor do I think law changes come into it.

I’m just that his casual racism makes me feel uncomfortable and I don’t believe it displays us in a good light.

What is it that should drive behavioural change then?

The flip side of that coin is this: I wonder how many of today's generation of British hunting tourists would make any effort to learn any of the local dialect, and then actually put it to use from time to time?

Hi

Thanks for posting, interesting for sure. Much change all round since the late 80s/early 90s.
Many of us 'Oldies' hanging in there, from bygone times, with thoughts/views based on the experiences/environment/past at that time - difficult to rem its all changed now.

I have had the honour of knowing a couple of gentlemen of Guys ilk. Neither of them officially knighted, but both more than deserving of the title 'Sir'. Seeing the film in full reminded me so much of the old fellas, and of tales turning into legends as they are told by firelight on a foul night.
When these old chaps are all gone our world will be a poorer place for their absence.
