Beretta 12 gauge AL391 Urika Gold

AL391s are a great gun. I don't personally own one but know a few that do and all they say are great things about them. Those and the A400s. Beretta being gas operated, they can become quite dirty though and theirs some more parts that need to be maintained but with a you tube video or two you should be good to go

i have had a AL391 for ten years now shoot clays every week and duck on the marsh it has never let me down just need to clean whenever it does not re-cycle prefers heavier loads to help with re-cycling

the al 391 is getting on a bit now been around a few years unless it’s a sleeper I’d keep well a way if considering a semi is go for something more up to date. SS

Had one couldn't hit many duck with it. Changed it for the Benelli M2 couldn't hit many duck with it either. But both good reliable guns for duck shooting. Personally it's only fowling I'd use one for though. They're frowned upon for clays in our parts ;)

I have an AL391 Urika 2 with 30" barrel - soft shooting guns and sweet to shoot for pigeons and clays alike. Gas guns so you need to keep them clean. £500.00 cased complete plus RFD to you.
On Guntrader for £695 at Francis Lovel in Oxfordshire.

I was hoping to find a low shot count Gold model. I want something pretty with nice wood. It’s only to be used as an occasional clay day.

Thanks. I will have a look. Has it had much use?

Not by me - I have had several Urika's and this one was bought for rough shooting - 30" barrel gives a smooth steady swing, but I never use it, as I found a broken Benelli for a ridiculously low price that I bought and fixed and is my go to 9+1 semi-auto on my FAC. The Urika 2 is much nicer finished by comparison and more of a clays and pigeon gun.

A few years back I came across an absolutely mint synthetic 28 inch Beretta 391, cased with all the original accessories etc, as new. I bought it and have found it to be a great shotgun, it's also easier to hit with than my Benelli M2 . I have used it on pigeons, Duck, Geese and pheasants.

If you do a bit of research you will find that it was one of Beretta's most successful shotgun designs.

If you can find one in the right condition, I would definitely recommend this shotgun. As ever things have advanced, but in reality, even the newest Beretta models are not head and shoulders above the 391 performance wise in my opinion.

I have had lately had a few modifications carried out to mine to make it a bit more user friendly which is purely a personal thing, but the latest Beretta's would benefit from these also in my opinion.

it got soaked the other morning, water was literally running out of it.. its never jammed or let me down, put loads through it as well!
first time I stripped it yesterday took ten mins and came up like new again :thumb:

sold my 390 a few days after getting this, mint allrounder

Had two 391’s for years, perfectly good guns
Also have a extrema 400 , not much difference in recoil if u ask me.
Recently added a franchi 5 shot, had may a triple with geese, but never a 4 or a 5.

i've owned and used the Beretta al391 teknys gold great guns but form time to time would have issue with feeding the second shell its a well known fault been documented on the the net. the problem was the Carrier. people have changed the original career of the 391 to the one used in the a 390 has a slight bend in the carrier was reported that this modification cured the problem i now have a benelli super sport uses the inertia driven operating system very reliable and so simple to clean.

I like Beretta semi-auto shotguns but they don’t like me. Have owned a 3901 and A300 and even with shims couldn’t hit anything. It wasn’t the shotguns, it was me. Daughter’s boyfriend at the time couldn’t miss with the 3901 and my next door neighbor was the same with the A300 though in fairness he is one of the rare people I’ve seen that shoots any shotgun well no matter the fit.

Beretta, for whatever reason doesn’t publish the stock dimensions of their shotguns, at least in the US. From what I remember(and it could be opposite) the comb was too high on my Berettas and I couldn’t shim them low enough.
