A few years back I came across an absolutely mint synthetic 28 inch Beretta 391, cased with all the original accessories etc, as new. I bought it and have found it to be a great shotgun, it's also easier to hit with than my Benelli M2 . I have used it on pigeons, Duck, Geese and pheasants.
If you do a bit of research you will find that it was one of Beretta's most successful shotgun designs.
If you can find one in the right condition, I would definitely recommend this shotgun. As ever things have advanced, but in reality, even the newest Beretta models are not head and shoulders above the 391 performance wise in my opinion.
I have had lately had a few modifications carried out to mine to make it a bit more user friendly which is purely a personal thing, but the latest Beretta's would benefit from these also in my opinion.
