Good scope for Sako 75 243.

Sorry, are you looking to buy one or looking for a recommendation?

Recommendation wise I would go for a variable mag scope going from 2x up to 10x or 12x, a 50mm objective lens and a 30mm tube. Any of the reputable makes should be fine - Swaro, S&B, Leica, Zeiss, Leupold, Vortex etc.

I will be looking to buy one. Just didn’t know if there was anything specific for this round that worked well

Swaro, S&B, Leica, Zeiss, Forget about these as normally the better the glass the worse they are for ADD ON NIGHT VISION i use a nightforse nxs with a archer n/v scope and its good. if you look over on n/v forum the sightron s-tac seems to be the one sought after Parallax adj is a must

The very best glass like Swaro, Zeiss, Leica do not work brilliantly with night vision add ons.

If that is a must, you options in my opinion are Sightron STAC's or Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15x56.

The delta is the better scope and also is illuminated but is also more money. Both work very well with digi NV. I would buy the Delta

I'm in the same position with the same rifle, having sold the Nightforce that was on it.
It all comes down to budget and mine is most definitely sub-£1000.

At the moment I'm looking at a Delta Titanium 2.5-15x56 HD. I missed out on the Christmas/new year discounts so I'm hanging on for deals.

Sadly the 2.5-17.5x56 S-Tac, which is the dog’s danglies for NV add-on use, is no longer in production and very sought after s/h. The S-Tac 4-20x50 is a reasonable substitute, and the MOA version is particularly good as the fine reticle doesn’t obscure the image much when dialling in optical and digital magnification.

Whichever scope you decide on you’ll need a good VCSEL IR to get the best out of an add-on digital NV unit. Current most discussed offerings are the Sirius XTL, Solaris SRX, and Black Sun Dark Engine - the last being my personal choice.

Here you go Delta for sale perfect for your needs .... NV work really well with this scope and with it's excellent IR light gathering you don't necessarily need an IR Laser, standard IR torches are fine out to 100/120yds

rifle is irrelevant. A scope is a scope.

What you need to focus on is the light conditions you will be using it in, the magnification you want, whether you want side parallex or ballistic turrets (will be dictated by teh type of shooting you do). Whether you want (I struggle to say need) an illuminated reticule.

I understand that needing the ability to add on NV requires =certain specs but have no experience of this - others will pitch in

I’m already using the night vision add on for bunny control. Use wraith illuminator and mk2 vulpine.
Scope I use is a 3-12 x56optisan eve
Seems to work ok. Just wondered if there’s a better combo for my vulpine

If primary use is night vision you will struggle to beat the sightron stac. If you want a scope that is good for low light/stalking and night vision then the delta titanium 2.5-15x56 would be be my first choice, I have one on my 243 and its brilliant, performs well past its price.

If you don’t mind what add on do you use with your delta? I’ve just purchased the very same scope.
George.

I’ve got the Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15x56, brilliant daytime/low light scope. Works very well with Pard NV007, especially with a decent laser IR. I’ve got the Sirrius XTL, I believe the Solaris and Dark Engine are also good.
The Delta was on my .223 which I sold and when I find the .243 I want it’ll go on that for stalking and foxing. They really are outstanding value for money.

I went down the Hawke route initially for the Pard007, both went faulty, I got the The S-Tac 4-20x50 Sightron now, works brilliantly, as a day light stalking scope and night vision on the foxes for my Sako 75 .243
My mate has the Delta, equally as good.
Cheers
Richard

What a load of bs. Who said that. I use them on my airguns for rats. Will focus to 10feet. On low mag anyway. On 4 mag easy 10-20yards.

Just read on one of the spec sheets on the web that it will only parallax down to 50m, which struck me as odd.

If that’s incorrect and it’s a 10m parallax then all good. :thumb:
