Stalking locked down?

Cant help thinking that if we had done this two weeks sgo we would be in an even better place than we are now. The death rate from CV is ahead of where Italy was at the same time in its epidemic.

having had Lyme I am not taking any chances. Yes i would love to get out with a rifle but i am going to leave it a few weeks.

we are in for a long haul here. In the meantime i have a Walnut Blank and some sharp chisels and a 223 with a horrible plastic stock.

It's fairly straight forward. Just apply a bit ofcommon
sense

If it's local and esp if ur job can't see it being an issue, but to drive hours to a different part off the country I'd say is fairly irresponsible putting both u and others at risk.
To me no different than the motor homers/caravaners really

Seemingly petrol pumps are quite a big risk, do u really want to need to use them more than needed.
Also if fuel does become scarce in future is it really wise to drive for hours just to do a bit off hobby stalking

I'm not sure we should be looking for ways around these measures. Deer eat a few more trees, foxes eat a few more lambs, and pigeons pick at a few more seedlings. Who cares? What matters is that we all stay home as much as possible and do our bit to protect our country.

I think we could make a case that stalking is a good form of excessive, you could say it also produces food but I don’t think that would stand up well. I was going pigeon shooting tomorrow with a guide I use had to contact him and pull out, sitting in a hide is not exercise IMHO and would make a poor argument in the unlikely event you end up confronted by the police. Let’s see what the next ramp up of restrictions brings

I am very

What a lovely was to waste time.

I thought exercise was encouraged if done sensibly and responsibly?

I am playing golf most afternoons after work. They have removed all ball cleaners, all the bins, the shoe cleaner. The clubhouse and bar are closed and buggies are not allowed. You have to walk 5 metres apart if playing with others and no hand shakes or embraces. Nobody is allowed to remove the flagsticks and they have pulled all the cups 2 inches out of the holes so you cannot actually hole a putt. You just have to deadweight the ball on to the lip so no need to reach in to the hole to retrieve ball.

Anyone seen flouting rules is banned automatically for 14 days. They send emails out every day to keep all members up to date. Seems that I am the only one still playing at present, so little chance of any rules being broken. It seems I currently have my own private golf course. It is pretty surreal but until someone says I cannot do it, I will keep going as it is good for me and I just do not see any risk to anyone. It is outdoors, away from anyone whatsoever with no chance of interaction.

I would see shooting as the same.

Photo this afternoon shows how weird and ghost like the place is at present. My poor little car was quite lonely.

To me that looks suspiciously like the stock of a little Belgian folding .410 sticking out of your caddy !

The pendulum swings one way and then too far the other. Go out but meet nobody, stay upwind. remember the virus will survive 3 days on cardboard, the worst material.
I'm retired and at home, doing all those jobs you never get time for. Fixed the chain saw, multi strimmer, quad and did some spraying, bit of logging. Out tonight foxing, I wont see anybody. Tomorrow I'll go for a drive locally to break the cabin fever but keep plenty of diesel in the car. It would all be fine but for hoarders and selfish b******* who think a suitable separation is impossible and relates to the end of marriage. We are the lucky ones - we have brains and a hunters instinct and perhaps a tot or two in the cellar ?

Your information is incorrect.
The virus survives for only a few hours on porous surfaces like paper & cardboard. It's hard, impervious surfaces like plastic & metal where it lasts longest.

Tomorrow I have to take mum for a hospital appointment (which I'm dreading due to too many idiots) & after that, I'm going for a walk up the lake for exercise & I'll have my spinning rod with me. I very much doubt I'll come within a hundred yards of anyone during the latter.

Was going to go out foxing tomorrow with a mate of mine but I’ve knocked it on the head and decided to keep my firearms locked away until things get better . As has been said before it’ll just be two of us in the dark with little chance of bumping into anyone or the police . But I can’t think of a decent reason of being out with a fire arm in light of recent developments and I’m convinced the police would take them off me at best.

But is stalking for your job absolutely essential? My understanding of essential is NHS, Police, fire service, ambulance, Armed Forces etc..
And farmers.
Seems strange that it was only a few weeks ago that farmers were told that they were "unnecessary" as we could import all of our food.
Quite a turnaround of opinion in a short space of time.
I must say it's nice to be appreciated for once.

Essential shopping supplies buying from a store or collecting from the field both have legitimate reasons for being out ( I do wonder the next call with an RTA humane despatch call will come in and my reason for leaving home I will
Ask if it’s authorised .... )
meet for the family is essential ! plus getting exercise all in one trip out ... guessing soon we will need a chitty to leave home with a legal excuse , just some of the challenges we now face if we all stand together and stand strong we can face this horrible situation together and full on !! We need to support each other how ever we can , share true information not rumours
