Available: Free stalk for NHS worker

A very kind offer. I won’t put my name forward as I have my own stalking but the sentiment is appreciated.

TH4 on behalf of those to whom this offer is made (for the avoidance of doubt - not me and not my wife) ; what a great gesture.

My wife is a (non-stalking) Nurse. We were lucky enough to enjoy a (very quiet) seven days in Cornwall last week. We returned home to 'self-isolation' - like the majority of the right minded public, avoiding family and friends. Yesterday she returned to work at a local hospital where she will (I have no doubt) come into contact with hundreds of members of the public. First time in our life time that (as a retired Police Officer) I got to worry about her going to work.

Could I please throw my hat in the ring? What a generous offer from a true gent! Made a pleasant surprise to see this up here.

My hospital hasn't yet offered to refund parking yet, and I'm not holding my breath.

Currently I'm mid way through a streak of 13 back to back shifts, half of which are nightshifts. We are this short staffed already and covid19 isn't even that prolific here yet. There are going to be a few burnt out people in the NHS before the end of this mess.

I am back at work on Monday, but went to a meeting today. All very grim . I work as a MSK specialist both in GP practices and hospitals. My hospital work has stopped and I am being redeployed. this will involve me visiting skill I did have not used for years but training is to be given. At some point my work in the GP practices will stop and I will just be doing hospital work. I am based in West Wales, but even rural Wales is going to be hit.

Am I scared? too blood right I am.

So thank you for the offer

please all keep safe and well.

My Dad in his eighties now and can still shoot sub inch groups. He still takes a few fallow every year, he just has to get someone to put them in the boot now. He had a rythym monitor put in place last year. At a review they asked him what he had been up to at 5:30 in the morning with sly grins- he replied pulling a fallow buck out of a ditch. The grins turned to strange looks quite quickly.
He also devoted his working life to the NHS at Great Ormond Street, he was a pioneer of profusion in this country and designed a number of heart lung machines which have been copied and in use all over the world now. He also initiated the first child EcMo in this country. He never had an issue killing if it was for food. He would go nuts if anything was over shot. They only thing he could not being himself to eat was heart though. He said it was to close to the bone! HaHa.
A great offer!!!

I also have 6 doctors who regularly hunt with me, 4 of them are South African from London hospitals and very good,
They really enjoy stalking through the woods, the harder the better as far as they are concerned.
So I would also like to offer the same it will only be for Fallow as I am building up the number of Roe i have.
When this lot has passed us by and providing I come out the other side they can have a free hunt on me and keep the beast.
I am based in East Sussex, just south of Ashdown Forest,
Sika malc knows some of my ground, the beast he shot with me and mounted a couple of years ago came from my ground.
I can't promise what we might see but will give it a good go.

That should be fun as most, if not all, NHS workers tend to concentrate on saving lives not taking them.
Perhaps they look upon animals differently.
All those that I know are very squeamish about killing anything, even rats ;)

Yeah, we're all vegans too.

In the real world, we're as varied as the rest of the population

A great offer. Whilst I'm NHS and work on wards all day (I'm in stock replenishment for everything from oxygen masks to theatre scrubs), I don't really view myself as 'front line' - I'm not directly looking after patients.
So to my view, I wouldn't qualify

In my view you certainly qualify. Your work is as important as any other NHS role.

Another top offer and i'd like to stick my name in the hat , but iam working a 7day week for the duration 🤬 still with out the correct PPE .

The PPE situation is a joke isn't it! My Trust is using the principle that until covid19 is confirmed we are to wear minimum PPE. The swabs are currently taking 5 days to return results. That's 5 days anyone who comes into contact with that patient is potentially at risk.

Really feels like the powers that be aren't bothered at all about us. Especially as most of them are working from home now...

So as and when this happens I’d like to volunteer to pay for there accommodation for one night (£100). Perhaps admin can collect the money from me and hold it on account or I’ll forward payment to the stalking provider.
Please let me know good luck and stay safe can be reached by PM

I am currently sat at home. I would be fitting decontamination equipment Washers and Autoclaves. But the closure of hotels etc makes it nearly impossible.
I only see the behind the scenes parts of the hospitals but it is still worrying.
Considering the hospital was constructing an extra mortuary. You can only take it very seriously.
The offer of Stalking to those on the frontline is a fantastic way of showing appreciation. A perfect antidote to the pressure they are currently working under.
