Morning all. Up and out at 5.30 again this morning as I am an early riser. Out with the dogs and binoculars . I am seeing so many cuckoo's this year like never before. Skylarks are abundant as are Reed buntings. Many in your area? (I'm in south Lincolnshire)

Hi I heard my second cuckoo yesterday evening and plenty of nightingales but the best was as we walked back a short eared owl flew over it was massive,it was my wife who spotted it flying about 50 meters up ,we’ve never seen one before but one was seen a few miles up the coast 2 months back bazil

Heard 2 upto now,

My neighbour said he had one in his garden on Friday

Also there's a woodpecker about , you can hear it hammering away close by

Been hearing Cuckoo’s every day for about two weeks now here on the southern edge of Dartmoor, the most I have heard for a very long time. We go on about birdsong in other counties, but there is nothing as wonderful as a Cuckoo in a British spring.

Two sighted on the northern edge of Dartmoor too. This would have been Ten Tors weekend (for those unfamiliar, a very challenging event that sees teenagers haul themselves over 35, 45 and 55 miles routes across Dartmoor) and while it is strange seeing the Moor this quiet at this time of year, it is certainly in ‘rude health’.

There's a few about here, since mid April, lucky to have lots of bird life around here, even had a sea Eagle knocking about recently and we live about as far away from the sea as you can get

Ahhh yes, the “Northern Edge” as it known in these parts, a land of myth, legend and six toes! Never wander off the track on north Dartmoor! 😲😲

Never heard the sound of a Cuckoo around these parts for years now, Skylarks used to be plentiful, sadly no more it's a pity as I used to love to hear the Skylarks singing above me when out a walk.
Wildlife has changed for the worse around me now, so many birds are missing :(

Sadly haven't heard a Cuckoo in rural East Kent for many years now... In fact I can't even remember when or where I last did.
OMG you are not going to believe this - only just gone and heard the first Cuckoo for years in the wood next door!!!

That has really made my day and all I need to see now are squadrons of Swallows and Martins.... Sadly only seen one this year and it was so far away I couldnt tell what it was...
