Bloody catkins

I have been a hayfever sufferer all my life but more recently (last decade or so) I have started having two hayfever seasons - one in May-July as per normal, and now a second dose of fun in (usually) early spring (late Feb / early march) with the catkins.
However, this year it’s at least 2 months early and I am streaming with snot just like I would on a warm June day!!

Never had it this early, ever, and given that my garden has a lot (and I mean a lot) of catkin bearing trees in it, I am having to dose up on the meds, especially whilst we have northerly and easterly winds as these blow the pollen straight at the house!

Anyone else noticing this??

Maybe.

I have been sneezing a lot over the last week - exactly as I usually do in March.

It didn’t occur to me that it might be pollen.

I will go look at the trees - I didn’t think any were actually releasing yet.

Me too......mine is really bad when a neighbours' leylandii hedge (about 60ft of it, 10ft high) is dumping yellow dust over everything...

D.

We have yew and leylandii hedges, loads of silver birch trees, twisted and normal hazel, all of which are chucking out pollen or full of catkins.
