This was my Grandads way he would force it down with a tube and cold water the mustard and cold water made them chuck in short order

my vet told me to do this to my ESS after it chewed a tub of rooting powder .
We had a Labrador that was partial to eating my wife’s socks and knickers (Mrs Gunn is somewhat diminutive, to be fair).
They used to reappear down the track where we took our dog for a walk - subject to erosion of the original evacuation mind.
If we’d taken the dog to the vet each time he’d eaten a sock we’d be living in penury still!

Gey salty stuff, ham.
The cost is often not relevant : I went to the dentist today for a filling, £165 lighter...but no injection, minimal drill, no pain, great job .......I’d have paid double for that service as I really hate going! Also, he and the nurse must have had a few quid worth of protective gear on that has to come out of their costs as well.

Might be time to find a new vet. We move around regularly, do a straw poll of locals and all the ones we've been to in the last 20 years have been absolutely ok with having an educated chat about the research base for spaying/vaccinating etc.
