Dog ate a load of ham and not well

My dog swallowed three socks at two o'clock in the morning took her to the vet one injection to make her sick plus call out seventy pounds all together

We had a Labrador that was partial to eating my wife’s socks and knickers (Mrs Gunn is somewhat diminutive, to be fair).

They used to reappear down the track where we took our dog for a walk - subject to erosion of the original evacuation mind.

If we’d taken the dog to the vet each time he’d eaten a sock we’d be living in penury still!

The cost is often not relevant : I went to the dentist today for a filling, £165 lighter...but no injection, minimal drill, no pain, great job .......I’d have paid double for that service as I really hate going! Also, he and the nurse must have had a few quid worth of protective gear on that has to come out of their costs as well.

Might be time to find a new vet. We move around regularly, do a straw poll of locals and all the ones we've been to in the last 20 years have been absolutely ok with having an educated chat about the research base for spaying/vaccinating etc.

But then again, see how much it costs to call out a plumber. Or the hourly rate at your local garage.
