Who went to the beach today in England?

I did, we had lunch here it was beautiful. The two of us, a family, dad was fishing, and another chap fishing that was it.85F4D787-26D0-4179-8686-ABEBC1FA65E5.webp The dog spent nearly all the time in the sea, he loved it. Saw a pod of Dolphins about 200mts off the beach, which is always nice to see, no sign of any Mackerel though, seeing Dolphins I would have expected to see them shoaling.

But you just got to love the great British public, all swarming to the easy to get to beaches with lots of parking and phone signal like brainless sheep. No public toilets open, no cafes or bars, it must have been really nice! North Devon was really bad according to the local news, with cars from all over the country, many from Wales, just because some prick said the surf would be good! Let’s see how bad the second spike in CV19 will be........Full lockdown part 2 coming our way perhaps.

Wife and I (and the dogs) went yesterday for a coastal walk - Constantine was rammed but Boobies just along the coast not too bad

We rarely go anywhere near the coast in the summer

Now I no longer surf, I don't go there much in the winter anymore

It's a shame - I love our coastline but not fond of people

Everything seems to be going the same way down here in South Devon! Whilst we need the visitors to survive we really would rather they weren't here at the moment!

Fortunately, although I'm very close to the coast I'm tucked away but already have seen far too many clear breaches of the very necessary precautions. It really doesn't make any sense at all!

Same here John, we are so blessed with such a stunning coastline here in Devon and Cornwall, but on the other hand we are also cursed because everyone and their dog wants some of it, and unfortunately we were hit by the idiot majority who are clueless. Dartmoor has been the same, all the idiots head for a handful of locations.......But I know different. 😉

I live 5 minutes from the beach. In the village nearby it was very busy, and not too much social distancing either, from what I could see on driving through.

Plenty of wrecks here FB, Start Point is a real bugger if you don't know what your doing. 😁👍

Remember coming back from Alderney from a weeks boys fishing trip for the blues and turbot and it was flat calm like that and we stopped off at an untouched mid channel wreck and just bagged up. Biggest I had was 21lb and got my Sea Angler trophy badge.

With boxes and boxes of cod our Mrs didn't even ask what shenanigans we had been up to all week

Lovely day on the beach, everyone was sensible where I was. You need to know where to go really, otherwise I wouldn't have gone. Locals beaches seem fine. Nice swim in the sea.

Plenty of wrecks here...

Diving down south and arrived at the site of a wreck in Cornwall only to find a boat full of anglers already on the scene. They were kind enough to reel in for 45 minutes whilst we dicked about doing our best Jacque Cousteau impressions. That wreck was absolutely rammed with fish and big ones.
At one stage I looked down through a floor plate of the wreck and came face-to-face with a Conger Eel whose head was the size of a Shire horse.

Discovered an interesting nautical fact that day. You can actually hear yourself scream at 40m underwater...

If it's head was the size of a Shire horse then I'm not surprised you screamed, as that would have made it about 45 metres long overall
